For instance, almost everyone has their vice that makes it hard to eat and lose weight and those vices come in extraordinary doses.</p>
<p>For example, the following is a list of things people regularly consume that lead to an abundance of extra calories that you don&#8217;t need and could easily alter. There are several, but I am going to only name a few in this article.</p>
<ul>
<li>Sodas</li>
<li>Alcohol</li>
<li>Sugary Desserts</li>
<li>Processed Foods</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>How to Lose Pounds and Drink Sodas</strong><br />
Believe it or not, there are a lot of people out there that drink at least 3 sodas a day and even more. Each can of soda you consume has 140 calories and a whopping 39 grams of sugar. So, if you drink 3 sodas a day you are consuming 420 calories and close to 120 grams of sugar that do nothing to feel you up. Plus, that sugar you are consuming leads to cancers and a whole other mess of problems. This is like eating an extra meal a day and a high fat one at that. If you just cut out your soda intake, you will be amazed at how much better you start to look and feel.</p>
<p>Now I am not saying switch to diet soda either. The artificial sweeteners are exactly that, &#8220;artificial&#8221; and made with all kinds of chemicals that cause your body to go haywire and develop all kinds of problems. These sweeteners also stimulate your appetite and make you eat more food. If you want to eat and lose weight, this is defiantly not the shortcut to take.</p>
<p><strong>How to Lose Pounds and Still Drink Alcohol</strong><br />
The same thing for soda applies to alcohol. Now I am not saying you can&#8217;t have a drink. There are drinks you can convert to, that although still not good for you and best to completely cut all altogether, that don&#8217;t have as much calories or sugar. Like margaritas? There are 168 calories on average in one margarita and 150 calories in beer. If you must drink, opt for a leaner alternative such as:</p>
<p>Skinny Girl Margarita (My favorite)=100 calories<br />
12 oz lite beer = 110 calories<br />
5 oz wine = 90 calories</p>
<p><strong>How to Lose Pounds by Avoiding Processed Foods</strong><br />
Now this one is a tough one and is probably the most common mistake people make. W are so busy in our lives that we have resorted to whatever is quick, easy and cheap. This quick and easy lifestyle has led to us primarily eating out of a box and driving through a fast food line. The problem with this is the trans fats and chemicals that come with these foods. Trans fats are considered the #1 reason so many people are obese. And the laundry list of chemicals that you can read on the back of a box is mind boggling and very unnatural. You are basically poisoning yourself slowly but surely.</p>
<p>The way to easily get out processed foods is to start preparing your meals for the week on the weekends to take with you. You can even make bigger meals and freeze them for future use. Boil eggs and cut up fruits and veggies to go with hummus, almond butter, etc. for the week so when you want to take the lazy route, processed foods are not the only choice. Do the prep work for crock pot meals the night before and then cover with foil. The next morning take them out of the refrigerator and cook them while you are at work so you have dinner ready when you come home.</p>
<p>Now these are just a few ways how to lose pounds with little effort. Wouldn&#8217;t you rather just minus out one thing out of your diet, then several? If you can minus out several and stick with it, great! But sadly, most of us can do it for a little while and then revert back to our old ways. You can start with one thing and then once you don&#8217;t miss it anymore move on to the next. The point is to not shock yourself to where you do nothing at all. Make gradual changes and you will eat and still lose weight before you know it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are so many things that you can do to contribute to being healthy, but there is no way you can do them all or be conscious about doing each one every day. Because of this I have created a list of the top 10 things you can do to stay healthy.</p>
<p><strong>Change Your Attitude.</strong> Whenever someone is told they have a terminal illness or that they will never walk again, the worst thing they can do is to go into depression or become stressed. People that do this often die faster and allow themselves to never achieve positive results. Your mind is a powerful tool and can control every part of your body; even the healing process. Believe you can do something, and you will. Focus on the positive of life and you will reap positive results!</p>
<p><strong>Monitor Your Nutrition.</strong> This is a no brainer. Our health corresponds precisely to the quality of our nutrition. This is true with all plant and animal life. Living organisms whenever /wherever found, with all their wonderful capacities and enjoyments, are merely the results of good nutrition and drainage. Pay attention to what you are putting in your mouth at all times. If you put bad in, only bad can come out of it.</p>
<p><strong>Exercise.</strong> This does not have to mean going to the gym every day. Simply, fit in some kind of activity in your day for 30 minutes a day that you love doing and that keeps you moving. Don’t have 30 minutes? Use the stairs instead of the elevators, walk to places that are a short enough distance instead of driving, do floor exercises while watching the news or catching up on your favorite TV shows. Just do it and have fun!</p>
<p><strong>Drink Water.</strong> Up to 70% of our bodies are made up of water. If you are not drinking water and drink sodas, juice, coffee and any other beverage all day, you are depriving your body of an essential component it needs to heal itself and stay energized and alert. Everyone needs to get at least 8 glasses a day.</p>
<p><strong>Get Sunshine.</strong> Yes, you heard me. Sun is a very important factor when it comes to good health. We are meant to be outside, just make sure you stay out of the sun if possible from 10am – 2pm when the sun’s rays are most dangerous. Sunshine in small does not only provides Vitamin D, but also improves your mood naturally.</p>
<p><strong>Have Tenacity.</strong> &#8220;You can give in and you can give out, But You CAN&#8217;T GIVE UP!&#8221; Do not let yourself stop whatever health program you decide to get yourself on. You must continue it in order for it to become a habit. Eventually you will not even realize what you are doing used to be hard work. It will soon come to you naturally, like brushing your teeth.</p>
<p><strong>Get Fresh Air.</strong> Staying inside allows your body to be in closed quarters with all kinds of toxins such as paint, dust, allergens, cleaning chemicals, and much more. You need to get fresh air as often as possible to keep your body inhaling clean oxygen.</p>
<p><strong>Relax.</strong> Healthy people indulge in a daily nap and get good rest at night. I&#8217;ve learned it’s the fastest way to feel better. Whenever I feel a little low for whatever the reason, I try to get 1/2 hour to an hour nap during the day &#8230; time permitting and then I can tackle so much more throughout the day. It also will make you more apt to want to exercise.</p>
<p><strong>Temperance.</strong> (Or moderation) Too much of anything is not a good thing. Even eating spinach all day, although high in nutrients, will not give you all the nutrients you need and can give you too much of one thing to where it becomes toxic to your body. Try to always eat a variety of things and eat in small portions. It is better to eat little portions several times a day, then to eat huge portions only a few times a day.</p>

<p>Is coffee bad for you? For over 50 percent of Americans, a day is not a day if it is not started drinking a cup of coffee. For some it is a habit and others it is just something they truly love. It is true that coffee does serve some benefits such as decreasing diabetes, but the negatives of drinking coffee far outweigh the benefits.</p>
<p><strong>Piling on the Pounds: </strong>When is a coffee equivalent to an entire meal … or even an entire day’s worth of calories? When it’s one of the 40 unhealthiest coffees brewed. Just check out this list of coffees and their caloric content that the Daily Beast published: <a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/galleries/2301/1/" target="blank"><strong>The Daily Beast Media Gallery</strong></a>. For some people, to eat and lose weight means just cutting back on their coffee dosage can cause them to lose all the weight they could want. Now, want to throw in a donut with that 1,190-calorie ice blended triple chocolate mocha?</p>
<p><strong>Bad Moods: </strong>Caffeine essentially wakes the brain up, helping a person get through the day. After the caffeine wears off, however, it may have a depressive effect on a person’s mood. Daily coffee ingestion contributes to irritability, difficulty concentrating, subtle levels of disorganization, clumsiness, and forgetfulness. As the day progresses, 3 or more cups later, a heavy fatigue sets in by mid to late afternoon. You may be good after drinking coffee, but you will soon collapse after the caffeine wears off.</p>
<p><strong>Poor Health: </strong>Caffeine causes a number of health problems including, but not limited to, sleep and anxiety disorders, elevated risks of Parkinson’s disease, elevated heart beat and stress, breathing problems in infants, and caffeine dependency syndrome. It is important to drink caffeinated beverages in moderation. Because coffee is a diuretic it can cause people to become dehydrated; a lack of fluid in an individual’s body causes constipation. Coffee’s as bad or worse, than nicotine and alcohol. It causes heartburn, excess gas, bloating ulcers, and it is terrible for your digestion. Drinking coffee increases your risk of getting ulcers by 72%!</p>
<p><strong>Destroys your Looks: </strong>Besides packing on the pounds, drinking coffee over a period of time can stain a person’s teeth. Like nicotine, drinking coffee over an extended period of time can lead to cavities and yellowing of the teeth.</p>
<p>Instead of that cup of coffee and possibly a sweet roll for your breakfast, what’s a good pick-up in the morning? What would be a real good way to start the day? Did you know that fresh fruit is a real good pick-up?</p>
<p>So, what kind of fruit would be good to start the day? Any of your favorite fruits that are in season and can grow where you are at the time. Now, if you’re in an area where fruit is not grown or you’re getting towards that time of year where local fresh fruit is getting scarcer to come by, eat the kind of fruit that will ripen after it’s picked. Practically all fruit is picked green to ship and most fruits will not ripen after they’re picked, rendering little or no value to you whatsoever.</p>

<li>Cactus fruit</li>
</ul>
<p>Fruits that will not ripen after they’re picked are:</p>

<li>Cherries</li>
<li>Citrus fruits</li>
<li>Figs</li>
<li>Grapes</li>
<li>Melons</li>

<p>If you still want to have a cup of coffee during the day, have it around 2:30 or 3:00 pm. Maybe once or twice a week, instead of the coffee and donuts/sweet rolls or colas and candy bars, try your favorite fruit. This will be a quantum leap for your nutrition education and your body will reward you highly for it.</p>

<p>So far, I have written a lot of articles on how to eat and lose weight and have not really covered anything about fitness. Here I am outlining a great fitness program to assist you when you eat and lose weight.<br />

<p><span style="font-family: times new roman;">First of all you don&#8217;t have to run like a crazy person to be fit and lose the weight needed. What you first need to do is just get in the right mind set to start moving more throughout your day.  You must also find out what it is that YOU enjoy and can keep up with. You do not want to quit your workout due to boredom and you are not expected run like a triathlete when you have not worked out in years.<br />

The purpose of goals is to focus your attention on your future. Magical  things will begin when you set them. Your power to accomplish becomes a  reality when you have a goal.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: times new roman;">Your mind reaches toward achievement  when it has clear objectives. Goals give you a starting place and a destination. Just focus the full  power of all you are on what you have a burning desire to attain, and  you will achieve success. Act on your dreams and they are yours.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: times new roman;">Your fitness routine should always involve both  Cardiovascular Conditioning and Muscular Development.<br />

<p><span style="font-family: times new roman;"> <strong>1) Push</strong></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: times new roman;">2) Pull </span></strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-family: times new roman;">3) Stretch</span></strong></p>

<p>A lot of adults complain about how they have no energy and wish they had the answer to not feel so lethargic and how to increase energy. It’s really pretty simple. Here’s what I do: I try to eat more energy-gaining and less energy-draining foods … along with a short nap of 30-45 minutes each day in the afternoon.</p>
<p>The energy-draining foods are any foods that are white. For example: processed white sugary foods and processed white flour foods. I try to keep in mind a little rhyme: If it’s white, it’s not right! Most of the good is gone from those types of foods. But don’t they taste good? I used to eat because of taste and tradition and did it in haste and forgot nutrition. Now I’m all about nutrition.</p>
<p>So, now what I try to do is eat a lot of fruit and foods with natural starches, which are the energy-gaining foods!</p>
<p>And as I’m eating fruit, I always eat it on an empty stomach and avoid eating the sweet ones and the sour ones at the same time.</p>
<p>A few benefits of eating fruit: it’s easy … just crack it open and eat; it’s usually very cheap, especially when it’s in season; it’s so portable, you can take it anywhere … it’s truly “nature’s fast food!”</p>
<p>The natural starches are: ALL potatoes, brown rice, whole grain breads and pastas. Refer to the <strong><a title="Mango Man Diet" href="http://12fc061c1mrri-6hv4caogwdft.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=Q9DV9T62" target="_blank">Mango Man Diet</a></strong>!  Something I try to remember to keep me on track when I eat bread is another short rhyme: “The whiter the bread, the wider the spread, the sooner I’m dead!” Have some color in the bread!</p>
<p>Enjoy these energy gaining foods and try to get that nap in the day sometime when it’s convenient and this is how to increase energy.</p>
<p>I encouraging you to eat good stuff and you’ll always be tough … you owe it to yourself!</p>

<p>I have a lot of clients and of course I’m always so concerned for those mothers who have kids who come home from school each day and want something to eat. And they want to feed their kids something better than what they were exposed to at the school that day.</p>
<p>Isn’t it pitiful at what is fed to our youth in the school system these days? Instead of healthy snacks for kids, schools are feeding kids poison. When I ask most kids what they ate at school that day, they tell me they haven’t a clue … but it was lumpy and had lots of gravy! It always seems to be “lumpy” with gravy. Mystery meat.</p>
<p>How can we raise quality, responsible kids into the magnificent young adults we need to keep our nation strong with a deep sense of morals and abundant health with a decrease in crime when all we feed them is poison?</p>

<p>Here’s what I suggest as health snacks for kids as an alternative to a lot of that nasty stuff: Since most kids like peanut butter (and when they have it, they don’t feel like they’re weird, deprived or the like), take a couple of slices of gluten free bread (millet, rice, Ezekiel Bread are excellent – no wheat, rye, oat, breads, etc.) and put some fresh, natural, non-salted peanut butter on it with a bit of some kind of green, i.e. Bibb Lettuce, etc. (I know, that’s the tough part), and you’ll have a great sandwich with loads of energy for whatever you kid is planning to do for the rest of the afternoon.</p>
<p>And this is not only for the kids, it’s something you can do when you need that jolt of good energy when you come home from work in the afternoon. Of course I would always encourage taking a nap first, but then when you wake up this would be good until you have your meal in the evening. Actually this would be ideal for a noon lunch, but add a lot of greens to the sandwich.</p>
<p>Now why gluten free bread?</p>
<p>Those kinds of grain breads I just mentioned have an enormous amount of gluten in them and are almost non-digestible. If you were to cook them, the gluten turns to a glue like substance that gives the sinus and respiratory system a fit. Note that the root word in gluten = GLUE.</p>
<p>Whenever I have a client with problems with lungs, sinus or anywhere in the bronchial area along with most of the digestive system and I take them off those kind of grains, there’s a dramatic improvement in the condition. And it’s always a real treat for me to know that nutrition is a science and never changes. It’s how we apply it that always changes.</p>
<p>If you have frequent colds and sneeze a lot, eliminate those grains (even though this message is about grains, I immediately take all my clients off <em>all</em> dairy products as well), and watch for the positive results.</p>
<p>We all have some things we regret that has happened in our lives. The BAD STUFF is always easiest to remember about yourself. You are a special person with greatness and your past may be blemished, but your future is spotless. You have the power to change, but you have to want it bad enough knowing that we always want what we want when the want is more than the effort.</p>
<p>Please promote healthy snacks for kids at your kid&#8217;s school.</p>

This article is to shed the light on why some people can eat meat, why others should not and what you can do about it.</p>
<p>It’s been more than 30 years since Dr. Wayne Pickering, creator of the <a title="Mango Man Diet" href="http://12fc061c1mrri-6hv4caogwdft.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=Q9DV9T62" target="_blank">Mango Man Diet</a>, began trying to find out about how to be healthy. He started on this journey after having been as much as 50 pounds overweight with three serious bouts of Rheumatic Fever, gout at age 23, terrible gum problems, Rheumatoid Arthritis so bad he had to quit one job in the oil fields, a number of sinus problems and horrendous stomach problems with gas that defied description — he was almost ready to give up.</p>
<p>But then Wayne moved to Florida where he saw a variety of people who were enjoying health to the max and gave him hope. With no one to lean on for help he did a lot of trial and error diets.</p>
<p>Finally, after one day splashing Muriatic Acid into his face by accident, he couldn’t see out of his right eye for weeks and was told he would never see out of it again. That’s when he met a fantastic person named George W. Foster who helped him to understand his body and how wonderfully we are designed. After five days of working with Dr. Foster, he TOTALLY cleared up the problem, and it was this great accident that led him to what he is doing to this day.</p>
<p>From many years of counseling people on nutrition, Wayne Pickering found that some people can eat meat and not feel a lot of negative nutritional effects, but many others can not. Being a vegetarian is probably one if the beggest and best life changes most people can make for their health and improve the way they feel.</p>
<p>If people are going to eat flesh (beef, chicken, fish and other meats), you must eat it sensibly in no more than 4-6 ounces at any one time. Never fry, char-broil, grill or microwave flesh, or anything else for that matter. And of course, combine foods properly for optimum digestion, i.e. “eat greens with proteins.” That could mean lots of non-starchy vegetables with whatever source of flesh you’re consuming at the time. This was one of the reasons that sparked Wayne Pickering’s development of “<a href="http://www.wayne-pickering.com/healthproducts/foodcombiningguide.html"><strong>The Food Combining Guide</strong></a>!”</p>
<p>Here are some facts for you to think about, though:</p>
<ul>
<li>Humans are born to be herbivores, not carnivores.</li>
<li>Flesh is the DEAD carcass of animals … simple as that! If we eat live foods like fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and some grains, they have an abundant supply of nutrients and energy. DEAD FOODS ARE DEAD!</li>
<li>Flesh-eating animals have a short bowel to enable then to rapidly expel putrefactive flesh, while humans have a long and complicated alimentary tract to enable plant nutrients to be slowly and properly absorbed by the body</li>
<li>Flesh eaters have a different type of intestinal bacteria from the non-flesh eaters. Humans naturally have a non-flesh intestinal tract.</li>
<li>Flesh eaters have long, sharp teeth. Humans have the teeth to eat fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and some grains.</li>
<li>Humans can grind with their jaws, flesh eaters cannot. Flesh eaters’ jaws move up and down only. Notice how your dog eats food in gulps and when you feed it meat, it tears it apart and swallows it with very little chewing while a cow slowly chews the food and grinds with its jaws.</li>
<li>Humans, horses, cows, antelopes, and the monkey family all sweat through their skin. All flesh eaters sweat through their tongues.</li>
<li>Humans suck their liquids, flesh eaters all lap their liquids.</li>
<li>Human saliva contains starch-splitting enzymes, flesh eaters do not.</li>
<li>Flesh eaters have large livers, humans have comparatively small livers.</li>
<li>Flesh eaters secrete into their stomach 10 times the hydrochloric acid as do non-flesh eaters to cope with the feathers, sinew, bones and larger quantities of meats.</li>
<li>Flesh eaters take nourishment from the whole beast while humans who do eat flesh usually eat just the muscle part of the beast.</li>
<li>Humans seldom eat raw meat. They first have to cook it to help disguise it from the corpse it really is.</li>
</ul>
<p>In summation, flesh eating is a horrendously wasteful eating habit for humans. Slaughtered cows live first on vegetation, and their flesh is therefore second-hand. Even though the whole of their bodies generally is not consumed by humans, cows still have to be fed on land that might otherwise be growing food for the starving billions of people on this earth. JUST A THOUGHT!</p>
<p>And one other thought to consider: We really are gatherers and NOT totally hunters. </p>

My favorite of all of those would definitely have to be pizza. So, how do you make healthy pizza?</p>
<p>First of all, PIZZA DOES NOT DIGEST! It&#8217;s like a mass of paste in your body and does nothing good for you other than taste really great for the few minutes you put it in your mouth.</p>
<p>There is a little place downtown on Beach Street in Florida that&#8217;s called &#8220;The Avocado Kitchen&#8221; that serves a great Pizza without the Tomato Sauce and no Cheese. I know, how could that be Pizza with no tomatoes or cheese? The reason for this you will find in my post, &#8220;<a title="Acids and Alkaline Foods" href="http://eat-lose-weight.com/acid-vs-alkaline-foods-for-a-healthy-diet/" target="_blank">Acids vs. Alkaline Foods for a Healthy Diet</a>.&#8221;</p>
<p>And how would you find a pizza like this if you were out? There are lots of places where they will prepare you Pizza the way you like it if you just ask them. And practically ALL the time they are usually very happy to make something different so they can exploit their creative genius.</p>
<p>People constantly ask how to make Pizza to where it WOULD digest. So, here&#8217;s a healthy way to prepare Pizza that is easily digestible.</p>
<p><strong>Healthy Pizza Recipe</strong></p>
<p>Any non-wheat or non-white flour (brown rice, millet, etc.) Quite a few of the health food stores sell ready made non-wheat or non-white pizza crust ready to go.</p>
<p>Olive oil for crust</p>
<p>Favorite herbs (i.e. basil leaves, garlic powder, oregano and some sea kelp powder)</p>
<p>Red Bell Pepper</p>
<p>Summer and Zucchini Squash; sliced paper thin</p>
<p>Eggplant; sliced paper thin</p>
<p>Avacodo</p>
<p><strong>Instructions: </strong>Warm the crust in the oven for about 2 minutes and remove it from the oven to put a little Olive Oil on it along with some of your favorite herbs, i.e. basil leaves, garlic powder, oregano and some sea kelp powder. Then put some Red Bell Pepper flat slices about 2 inch squares for the base. Then put paper-thin Summer &amp; Zucchini Squash slices on top of that along with some paper-thin Eggplant slices. Put back in the oven for about 5-7 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove it from the oven and put some mashed Avocado all over the top. Slice this up and serve. This will amaze even the most skeptical of the bunch. I have NEVER had anyone say they didn&#8217;t really like it.</p>
<p>I realize this is a change but a definite change for the better I&#8217;ll assure you. But if you really want to see some real improvements with your health, the first step toward getting somewhere is to decide that you&#8217;re not going to stay where you are.</p>
<p>You&#8217;re a product of your environment. So choose an environment that will best develop you toward your goals. Analyze your life in terms of your environment.</p>
<p>Are the things around you helping you toward your success &#8211; or are they holding you back. Your world today is a living expression of how you are using and have used your mind. It&#8217;s something you can change at any time.</p>
<p>We all like to stay within our usual state of misery (be it marriage, career, health choices, residence, etc.) rather than try to experience the uncertainty of change.</p>
<p>By the way, this would be an awesome LUNCH for you.</p>

The fad is to eat as few calories as possible, stuff yourself with diet pills, and go under the knife to look the way you want. Have you ever noticed how so many overweight people are selling all those “healthy” pills, potions and lotions to lose weight and “CURE” the issue of being overweight? Have you noticed how sickly some of these people who take these pills are?</p>
<p>Here’s the thing: There is no such thing as an immediate cure. Sure you can have instant results after paying thousands of dollars to look a certain way, but if you do not change the way you eat or perform each day then soon all that money you put on losing the weight goes right out the door when it all comes back.</p>
<p>If you could choose to lose weight fast, but feel awful and then gain the weight back as soon as you start eating again or taking the steps to change your lifestyle with a few easy steps to ward off illness, eat and lose weight and keep it off, decrease stress and depression, increase sexual drive and sleep better; which would you choose?</p>
<p>The fact of the matter is people, good things come to those who wait and those that actually obtain the knowledge needed to take care of our bodies the way they were meant to. It is not hard at all. You actually eat and lose weight rather than starve yourself and spending outlandish money on self-proclaimed “miracle pills”. And on a side note: these “miracle pills” may make the outside of your body look better, but the inside of your body is really taking damage.</p>
<p>The Messenger is more important than the message. Dr. Wayne Pickering shown in the picture on the right is a great example of having a message where he is living proof that his message works.
