Ok, so I know I might get some skeptics on my, “How to Lose Pounds with Little Effort” title, but honestly, with the way most of us eat and exercise, even a little moderation will do a lot for our bodies and our health. For instance, almost everyone has their vice that makes it hard to eat and lose weight and those vices come in extraordinary doses.
For example, the following is a list of things people regularly consume that lead to an abundance of extra calories that you don’t need and could easily alter. There are several, but I am going to only name a few in this article.
- Sodas
- Alcohol
- Sugary Desserts
- Processed Foods
How to Lose Pounds and Drink Sodas
Believe it or not, there are a lot of people out there that drink at least 3 sodas a day and even more. Each can of soda you consume has 140 calories and a whopping 39 grams of sugar. So, if you drink 3 sodas a day you are consuming 420 calories and close to 120 grams of sugar that do nothing to feel you up. Plus, that sugar you are consuming leads to cancers and a whole other mess of problems. This is like eating an extra meal a day and a high fat one at that. If you just cut out your soda intake, you will be amazed at how much better you start to look and feel.
Now I am not saying switch to diet soda either. The artificial sweeteners are exactly that, “artificial” and made with all kinds of chemicals that cause your body to go haywire and develop all kinds of problems. These sweeteners also stimulate your appetite and make you eat more food. If you want to eat and lose weight, this is defiantly not the shortcut to take.
How to Lose Pounds and Still Drink Alcohol
The same thing for soda applies to alcohol. Now I am not saying you can’t have a drink. There are drinks you can convert to, that although still not good for you and best to completely cut all altogether, that don’t have as much calories or sugar. Like margaritas? There are 168 calories on average in one margarita and 150 calories in beer. If you must drink, opt for a leaner alternative such as:
Skinny Girl Margarita (My favorite)=100 calories
12 oz lite beer = 110 calories
5 oz wine = 90 calories
How to Lose Pounds by Avoiding Processed Foods
Now this one is a tough one and is probably the most common mistake people make. W are so busy in our lives that we have resorted to whatever is quick, easy and cheap. This quick and easy lifestyle has led to us primarily eating out of a box and driving through a fast food line. The problem with this is the trans fats and chemicals that come with these foods. Trans fats are considered the #1 reason so many people are obese. And the laundry list of chemicals that you can read on the back of a box is mind boggling and very unnatural. You are basically poisoning yourself slowly but surely.
The way to easily get out processed foods is to start preparing your meals for the week on the weekends to take with you. You can even make bigger meals and freeze them for future use. Boil eggs and cut up fruits and veggies to go with hummus, almond butter, etc. for the week so when you want to take the lazy route, processed foods are not the only choice. Do the prep work for crock pot meals the night before and then cover with foil. The next morning take them out of the refrigerator and cook them while you are at work so you have dinner ready when you come home.
Now these are just a few ways how to lose pounds with little effort. Wouldn’t you rather just minus out one thing out of your diet, then several? If you can minus out several and stick with it, great! But sadly, most of us can do it for a little while and then revert back to our old ways. You can start with one thing and then once you don’t miss it anymore move on to the next. The point is to not shock yourself to where you do nothing at all. Make gradual changes and you will eat and still lose weight before you know it.

I am glad to know that with little effort we can loose pounds,As i have some extra pound i want to loose it as soon as possible.
Diet is certainly important, but if we are getting enough exercise we have more flexibility on what we eat. Trans-fats, however I do agree should be kept to a minimum.

Exercise at least 30 min a day and cut back about 200 calories or depending on your weight cut back a little more. This is the healthiest way to loose weight because one pills are very unhealthy.Really this is good blog.

The most important thing is to find a way to eat what suits your lifestyle; something that is possible to do for the rest of your life or the weight may come back.

Nice tips, but if you really want to lose weight you really have to work hard on it. If you do exercise regularly chances are you tend to burn more calories and in time you’ll definitely achieve your dream weight.

These are really great tips! Alcohol and processed foods contain a lot of sugar and calories but very little nutrition and vitamins.
I have lost many pounds just by skipping white bread and potato from my diet and eating more veggies instead.No need to count calories, I feel great and have a lot more energy.

Glad to cathch your share. By the way, You must, at all cost, reduce refined, processed sources of carbs, such as white bread, pasta, and white rice. This is because these carbs are of very little nutritional value and high in “empty calories”. These foods digest way too fast, sending your insulin levels spiking through the roof, crashing your metabolism, and robbing you of energy. These foods are notorious for converting into fat.
Good information given by you, i am amazed to know that soda and alcohol contains this much calories. I think one should balance their diet with a good exercise to keep oneself healthy and fit. Only avoiding food can’t make your healthy and reduce your weight.
I like yoga for losing weight. If you do it fast enough with certain positions you can lose weight with yoga too. The poses eat up so much calories and you burn fat even after the work out.
